Courses Taught
My most recent teaching experience has been a two-lecture sequence on monetary policy for masters of financial economics students at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. The goal of these lectures is to build an understanding of how policy makers think about monetary policy's affects on the real economy and inflation so that the students could listen to a FOMC press conference and follow the discussion.
Before joining the Federal Reserve, I was an assistant professor at the University of TExas at Austin from 2011-2018. I taught the first semester of graduate core macroeconomic theory and undergraduate intermediate macroeconomics. My instructor evaluations averaged 4.1 out of 5 (range from 4.0-4.2) in these courses. I also supervised several undergraduate senior thesis projects.
